Giving

We do not give to entice God to bless us, we do not tithe, tithing was a precept of the law, if we tithe we become accursed. [Galatians 2:20-21, 3:10, Galatians 5:1-4]. We give as an expression of our faith towards God, an expression of gratitude to him for giving us Jesus who died for our sins, we give because we love God and we worship him with all our mind, our hearts, our strength and our substance.

We give as we purpose in our hearts, not out of necessity or out of compulsion, we give willingly and voluntarily in humility, simplicity and self denial. We do not give in pride, self righteousness and self worth. [Acts 17:24-25, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7] .We are fellow laborers together with God [1`Corinth 3:9], we cannot donate to God, neither can we sponsor God, he is our sponsor, we belong to God and therefore everything we have belongs to him. When we give we are partaking of God’s grace in the work of his gospel, we are allowing him to use us to his glory.

When we partner with God, we take pride in knowing that he accepts us, our persons and our liberality, so that through his word we may experience our identity in him as sons who are allowed to function in the house of their Father. God inspires us through his Spirit so that we may give to him.
